October already!

Last weekend I made a quick trip to Sydney for one of my bestie's hen's celebration. I love hanging with these ladies and it was a gorgeous afternoon in the sun drinking wayyyyyy too much champers! Lovely.

Spent the evening with some of my fave rellies at Casa Talman, where I feasted on slow cooked lamb & a dangerous choc-peanut butter dessert. Lots of vino (yes more please!) and long conversations with the gorgeous Megan (I needed a heart-to-heart for sure), and another delicious brekky on Sunday by 'Australia's Best Home Chef' (it's true & were related!) before hitting the road home to my lil family. Pretty perfect weekend in Sydney actually!

The monkey was pretty happy to see me -must get away more often on solo jaunts! Play dates later in the week with the little people while the mamas gossed (unusual I know!)

Big first this weekend with the Kahu's first cinema experience - off to see Disney's Planes. Big hit all round!

Queanbeyan turned 175 years old so we headed to the festivities - best part was hanging with the firemen - of course none compare to Uncle Tom!

Long weekend in Canberra so we checked out Floriade after brekky at the painfully trendy Me & Mrs Jones - great industrial fit out, so so food. The flowers rocked tho!

Big weekend almost over. Q heads to Europe this week while the monkey & I will fly up to QLD to see the family.

We. Can't. Wait.

Updates

The little guy's friend Archer turned 2 and had an awesome party. A chance for mama to dress the monkey in his party finest & rock a fedora.  There was an ambulance there for the little ones to hang out in - best day ever!!!

Play dates with all my mates - rock on!

EPIC market on a frosty morning. Love a BIG pastry, a bratwurst & a long coffee line!

Kahu has discovered the joy of a well placed foot stool on the kitchen - and has been helping out at the stove. Still not prepared to actually try anything he's helped cooked but I remain hopeful!

We had a toy clear out & rediscovered the farm animals. Thx nanny! And we took Dad to the park.

A special early xmas present for mama - a lovely new mint green bike just made for cruising slowly.  Just have to get a recent sunny day to actually take it out for a spin!

Coffee & banana moo shake date followed by pirate dress ups and nudie runs (by the little guys) just about completes the week.

Peace.

Spring has sprung...

1st September and its blossom time!  Weather is getting warmer (yay!) and there's blue sky all day!

Here's a run down of life lately
The monkey caught up with his mate Jake for some boy time, we hung out at McDs (something whenever do but the little guy loves the nuggets so he wore me down! At least you can get a half decent coffee at McCafe), oh and general spiky cuteness.

My lovely mama GF is due to have twin girls in a few weeks. We threw her a high tea baby shower at Benedict House. Great afternoon with some pretty awesome chicks (check #showertwopeas on Instagram for other shower goodness)

That night we had some good friends over for dinner - I managed to take a couple of pics of some of the Moroccan feast - namely pearl couscous and roasted pumpkin & broccoli salad, there was chicken, chick pea & olive tagine as well - delish!  The next morning we had a family lie in for Fathers Day - lovely!
Fathers Day began with presents, a special cup from Kahu decorated at Preschool, French toast for brekky and plenty of cuddles for papa.

We headed off to lunch at Poachers Pantry and then off to check out the paragliders.

A gorgeous day in the countryside, and hanging out with Daddy. Pretty fantastic really.

Father's Day is pretty special in our household and we make sure that we celebrate. This year has been a tough one as its the first one where I don't have my Dad here.

I miss him every day.

Happy Fathers Day Dad xx

Long weekend love

A long weekend means trips to the park, playdates with besties, takeout coffees, cafes, walking Titus, eating outside, playing 'airplanes, copters & wrestling' with Papa, watching episodes of Newsroom with the hubby (loving this show), baking muffins, market shopping and lazing about.

Pretty perfect really.

Of course we did take advantage of all the sales and did a bunch of shopping for the newly renovated home,  (should be moving back in 2 weeks - yippee!!!), and were still deciding on white leather for a couch - are we mad to be thinking white?

To finish off the weekend I'm heading off to see Gatsby at Dendy Premium with Lu & Shirley tomorrow.

Thanks for making your birthday a holiday Queenie!!

Easter hunt for the Little People

Today was a beautiful day for an egg hunt & lunch with friends. The little people got into the spirit of things running about the garden hunting eggs & treats - very cute

Loving the tiger hat

The little dude got a new tiger hat this week. Suddenly it's his fave accessory and he wears it everywhere (see yesterday's post with him wearing a onesie & said beanie). It fluctuates between bring a lion or 'liner' in kid-speak, or tiger hat. They both involve a fair bit of roaring.

Pretty freakin' cute.

Miss Gracie came to visit today, and there was a point where they 'shared' toys and played nicely. Pictorial evidence that it actually happens. Ha!

Who doesn't love Mister & Mrs Potato Head?

Week in pictures

Work week is over again - yippee!

So it's time to hang out with the monkey - my favourite pastime.

Almost has to go into work today at Parliament House for the leadership-spill-that-almost-happened-but-there-was-no-challenger non-event.

Working for the media affords a certain amount of sarcasm.

Anyway back to fun stuff - hanging with the little guy, good coffee, working the onesie, princess Lola, & Titus - all good stuff!

Slack blogger

It's been about a week since my last post - post long weekend come down and a BUSY week has meant no time for anything other than daily life - arghhh.

Life does get in the way some time hey?

Benefits of working part-time mean it was only a 2 day work week , but negatives mean that there's just another days worth of work to cram in somewhere. Yawn - this management gig is way too much responsibility sometimes.

Anyway post work has meant watching mama's netball team in the grand final, a couple of play-dates with the little people, a birthday party, playing with some of the birthday loot and the monkey generally being the cool kid on the block.

All in a week's work!

On the plane
Eating chippies for dinner at the netball final
James & Kahu on the fort
The boys hanging in the backyard

Party for Miss Lola

Miss Lola turns 2 this week and today was her birthday party. The weather warmed up & the little people danced & giggled through the morning.

Theme was Dorothy the Dinosaur from the Wiggles, so the monkey dressed in his pirate outfit - as you do!

Thanks for having us at your party Lolly - we had a lovely time.

Little People running riot

I made it to the gym today - 1st proper class since the ankle rolling incident. Just about passed out at the end but I'm back at least. Now just to keep up momentum ;-)

Leah & Grace, Julia, Sebastien & Frida & Miss Lola came over for lunch and play - chaos with the little people running about, but apart from a few incidents with sharing 'racing cars' they all played nicely & the mamas got to have a bit of lunch, some left over birthday cake and a goss. Nice!

Miss Lolly stayed all arvo while her mama did some party prep. That girl sure does have us Clements wrapped around her little fingernail- especially the monkey.
