Parks, new babies, dinosaurs & trains

Big week in our little world this week. A new baby boy was born to the lovely Luana, a little brother for one of our BFF little people Lola. Baby George is our new godson & were thrilled to meet him!

Kahu loves babies but really he loves parks more. We discovered a new park in Queanbeyan this week. This little gem is tucked away in amongst houses and is now know as 'awesome park' (thx Gracie!)

With all the busy-ness in our lives we decided a family day was in order. We headed out to the National Dinosaur Museum at Gold Creek. It was pretty cool & Kahu loved it!

We followed up the dinosaurs with a visit to Cockington Green - odd name but it has trains, and little houses and people.

Big day out & about and we all needed nana naps in the arvo. The Morgans came for dinner so Kahu had Miss Gracie to keep him company while the adults hung out...

Oh and the country changed leader ...  Election results unsurprisingly ushered in a conservative government. I'm still reserving judgement about that.

Last swim lesson of the year today - Kahu really doesn't like it & it's pretty much a struggle every week. Loves the water, hates following direction (definitely my son right!!!)

Loving all this spring sunshine & blue skies. No heating needed & short sleeves aplenty.

Roll on Summer!

The 'water pool'

Saturday mornings equal swimming lessons and while the monkey is prone to doing his own thing, some part of the repetitive lesson must be sticking. Yes he does seem to be 'getting it'.

Finally!

And he refers to swimming as the 'water pool' - cute huh?

We headed off to Tulips afterwards for brekky. Perfect as it has a play area for the little people. Nice one Tulips.

As you can see the tiger beanie is still running hot favorite for head wear :-)

Just keep swimming

After a long break from swim lessons we made our return today in less than tropical conditions. At least the Kings pool is overheated and crowded, so layers come off pretty quick. And because it's a weekend Daddy gets to jump in the water with the monkey while I watch poolside.

Kahu was pretty nonchalant about it all - he loves the water but not so much following commands. Loves splashing but not kicking, at least not on cue. Still unlike the little girl who screamed the entire lesson he seemed to be having fun.

We'll be back for more - and who knows after many, many, many more classes the monkey may even follow along :-)

Holiday pics from sunny QLD

All this hot weather is like being back in QLD - it hit 40 today, yikes!!!! So we stayed in air-conditioned comfort. See photos below from the last week of fun in the water featuring kayaking on Maroochydore river, morning swim at Mooloolaba Beach, hanging at the pool at my brother's holiday rental in Caloundra, and braving the masses at Southbank Brisbane Aquatic park. The monkey is a water baby for sure!
